How to call an ambulance properly?

E-mail Print PDF

In Poland the number of Ambulance Service is 999.

After dialing a number a well-qualified dispatcher should answer the phone, he or she will ask you some NECESSARY questions.

Remember, even in a dramatic situation do not raise your voice, do not shout, do not urge the dispatcher- it will not precipitate the action it may even be delayed because of unnecessary discussions or lack of information. Most people after the dispatche's question about their telephone number raise their voice and use indecent words, which is caused by the lack of understanding that in some cases this sort of information may be really essential, e.g. when the team cannot find the place of an accident or the number of a house. When such a situation occurs the dispatcher tries to ring up a person calling an ambulance in order to get some additional information.
